The Garden Club of McKeesport maintains the Rose Garden, Arboretum and Clubhouse located in Renziehausen Park, McKeesport, PA.
The All-American Rose Selections (AARS) voted us as one of the Country's top 10 rose gardens in 2010. The Rose Garden, located in Renziehausen (Renzie) Park is the second largest rose garden in Pennsylvania with over 2,000 roses. Additionally, we have a vast perennial bed, a butterfly garden, herb bed and a water pond. Our Garden is the site of many weddings near the Pond or Gazebo.
Our Club's work begins mid-April with two Saturdays set aside for rose pruning demonstrations with help from the Pittsburgh Rose Society. The public is always invited to learn and participate. This year our prunings will be April 14th and 21st beginning at 1 p.m. Come and learn.
Volunteers from The Garden Club of McKeesport and the Pittsburgh Rose Society work on each Wednesday beginning the month of April and continue throughout October. Our workday hours are 9:00 a.m until 2:00 p.m. with lunch at noon. Other volunteers are busy collecting flowers to be pressed or for dried arrangements, while others craft in the Clubhouse.
